Installed March 4, 2003 Art Gallery, Hawthorne, CA
"Sun" is 9 ft diameter, acrylic, painted on concrete, antiqued and sealed.
Placed at the interior entrance to the gallery, intended as a welcoming to guests
who enter the 5,000 ft space. The gallery plans to exhibit a variety of fine
art specializing in decorative application and public spaces.
Install took 4 days in completion. The image is rich in texture and kinetic movement from the
stroking and throwing application of paint. I took several breaks allowing each layer to dry between
each approach to the 'canvas'. Holding the energy and dynamic of the piece over the four
day period created an extended passionate state of being within me, something I find very satisfying
and an integral part of each painting I create allowing for balance and completness.
